PET POLICY 

 

Becky Hancock Realty understands the importance of the relationships many people have with their pets. We have many property owners that will allow pets. The type (i.e. cat, dog, etc.), size and number of pets are solely at the discretion of the property owner.

 

Rental properties that will allow pets do charge additional fees either up front or monthly. These fees are not refundable and do not cover damages that may be done by pets. Tenants are responsible for any and all damages done by their pets.

 

The following guidelines are designed to minimize health and safety problems and ensure the opportunity to fully enjoy your home.

Unless the owner has specified a more restrictive policy, a maximum of three pets will be allowed, dogs or cats, any combination and may not include more than one large breed dog with an adult weight of more than 50 pounds.

 

All dogs, cats and other pets (small caged animals, birds and fish excluded) more than 90 days of age must be immunized. Proof of immunization must be provided to Becky Hancock Realty within 10 days of arrival or acquisition along with evidence that the dogs are not an aggressive or potentially aggressive breed dogs or a predominant mix of an aggressive or potentially aggressive breed. This evidence can be provided in written form by a licensed Veterinarian.

 

For the purposes of this policy, aggressive or potentially aggressive breeds of dogs are defined as Pit Bulls (American Staffordshire Bull Terrier or English Staffordshire Bull Terrier), Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Chows, and wolf hybrids.

 

Ferrets, snakes, rodents, pigs, arachnids, sylvatic pets (skunks, raccoons, squirrels or other tree or woods dwelling animals, etc.) and other exotic and farm animals are not permitted.

Birds, gerbils, hamsters, etc. must be caged at all times.
